Ralph Sweet, FlutemakerSweetheart Flute Company, after 43 years of making quality fifes, flutes, and whistles, has closed its doors.  We truly enjoyed these years and heartily thank you all for your patronage.

The tradition lives on with Joseph Morneault – 35 years an instrument maker and master craftsman in his own right, and the man who made your fine instruments from us for a dozen years until Ralph retired.  Please click on the link below to visit his shop, still located in the Ralph G Sweet workshop in Enfield, CT.  Joseph will continue to service our instruments and help with any questions.

Sweetheart Flutes

Ralph G Sweet – We honour this wonderful man who has passed away on 20 June 2019. Ralph's Memorial Page.  Ralph had been a fifer and drummer since 1946, first with the Chester Fife and Drum Corps and later with Nathan Hale Fifes and Drums and Warehouse Point fifes and drums. Ralph had been a designer and maker of fifes, flutes, and whistles, worked in a brush mill factory in his younger days, and served in the National Guard, and later he had a career as a physics teacher. He held a great love of contra and square dancing, and in his honour there continues to be periodically dances at the Powder Mill Barn now owned and operated by his daughter Polly Sweet.
